Tara Iyer defeated Rashmi Teltumbde in the girls' under-18 final of the MCC-adidas junior National tennis championships at the Madras Cricket Club courts on Aug 26th, 2006, and the scores were 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

Akash Wagh beat M. Fariz in the boys' under-18 final 7-6(3), 6-4.
