Madras Gymkhana Club ITF US$10000 Womens International Tennis Championship 2003 was organised by Tamil Nadu Tennis Association from 10th – 15th February 2003. The tournament was conducted by Madras Gymkhana Club and was sponsored by IOC, Apollo Hospital, Vijay TV, Canara Bank, Ford and many others.

Players from 13 countries took part in the tournament. Some of the notable players in action were Viratprasert Suchanan – Thailand, Kinebuchi Akiko – Japan, Dziamidzenka Natalia – Belarus.

This tournament gave an opportunity to prominent Indian players like Rushmi Chakravarthy, Sai Jailakshmi, Sonal Phadke, Megha Vakharia, Radhika Tulpule and Samrita Sekar to compete with higher ranked world-class players. The tournament was given very good print media coverage, the semifinals and finals were covered live by Doordarshan.

Final results were as follows:-
Singles:
Winner - Viratprasert Suchanan (Tha)
Runner up: Varana-Marie Beller (Ger)

Doubles: Akgul Amanmuradova and Ivanna Israilova (Uzb)
Runners Up: Rushmi Chakravarthi and J. Sai Jayalakshmi (Ind)

Mr. P.B. Santhanakrishnan, President, Madras Gymkhana Club, graced the occasion and gave away the prizes to the winners.

Mr. Hiten Joshi was the Tournament Director and Mr. Kishore Chowdary was the ITF Referee.
