The Tamil Nadu Calendar begins with the conduct of the most prestigious and only ATP tour event to be held in India and South East Asia - The TATA ATP Open 2003.

The event is scheduled to begin on Monday, 30th December 2002.

Organised by the renowned Marketing Group - IMG, the event is sponsored by TATAs the premium Indian corporate giant for the second consecutive year.

TNTA will continue its organisational role in the conduct of the same.

Top players who are regular visitors to Chennai like Paradon Srichapan and Max Mirnyi of Belarus are likely to participate in the event once again.

According to latest reports from IMG, Mark Phillippoussis the well-known Australian star has confirmed his participation.

The finals will be held on Sunday, 5.1.2003.

It will be an interesting tennis feast for sports lovers.
