Europe Trip

As a part of TATE s plan, this year a team of 2 players and a Coach – R. Arun Prakash, Samrita Sekar and Hiten Joshi, were sent to Europe to participate in A level tournaments in Holland. It was a tough but useful experience for the 2 players to play on the slow clay courts against very competitive and accomplished players.



The trip extended from 1st July 2002 to 7th August 2002. They participated in 4 tournaments at (a) Ziest (b) Leiden (c) Almere and (d) Winschoten. The outstanding results was that of Samrita who with Annemarie finished runner-up in the A Womens event and that of Arun Prakash reaching the quarterfinals in the A Men s Doubles Event at Leiden.



TNTA is thankful of the KNLTB, tournament organisers at all the venues, Praveen Wilson and Jan Williem Vreeswijk for all their assistance and guidance to make this trip possible.



TNTA will continue to endeavour to expose the players in tournaments abroad each year.
